Maps
“One picture is worth a thousand words….”
All my life I have had a love of maps, and I fervently believe that works of military history can seldom have too many of them. I was fortunate to be able to commission a very talented graphic designer, Evangel Wu to covert my rough sketches, photographs, and Tippexed and scribbled photocopies, into clear presentations that were easily worth a thousand words of text each. I also acknowledge Kevin Boylan and Luc Olivier whose work, based on aerial photographs of the battlefield, has transformed the way that the French positions at Điện Biên Phủ are represented.
